Anthony Garcia was sentenced to death on March 23, 2018, for the murders of four people in Omaha, Nebraska in 2008 and 2013. Garcia, a former doctor, was found guilty of killing two couples: Thomas Hunter (11 years old) and Shirlee Sherman in 2008, and Dr. Roger and Mary Brumback in 2013. Garcia was motivated by a grudge against the pathology department at the Creighton University School of Medicine. The case went to trial twice; the first trial ended in a mistrial, but Garcia was found guilty and sentenced to death in the second trial. The case is currently on appeal.
